Click images to enlarge Description Vintage Working GRAND SHEET METAL Electric Mixer Blender Melrose Park Illinois Featured here is an electric Mixer or Blender made in the 1930-40s by Grand Sheet Metal Products Co. of Melrose Park, Illinois. There was a model name for this product but the small label is too worn to tell what that name might be. It has a heavy duty footed Pyrex-like glass jar that has measuring marks for cups & pints on one side and ounces on the other. There is a push-in switch on the side and a handle on the top as pictured. It also has the original cord. The on/off switch works...it hums and the metal whipper rotates nicely, although I haven't actually tried whipping anything with it. It's in good condition except for the slightly worn enamel coated metal surfaces and the cord has one spot where the rubber covering has worn off. The jar is in excellent condition. I have cleaned it generally, but additional detailing is needed. Dimensions are about 7-3/4” tall x 4-3/4” top section diameter and the unit with the cord weighs 3 pounds 5 ounces. The electric cord is about 55" in length. Although this vintage blender is operational, I am offering it as a very interesting vintage piece of industrial design.
